Robert Clark
CFPIM, CSCP
Lecturer in Operations Management SUNY Stony Brook, College of Business
Rob Clark has a background as a senior operations manager with extensive experience in manufacturing, material management, purchasing, manufacturing engineering, and business system implementation. He has experience with multi-plant and international operations, and with consolidations and acquisitions.
Rob’s career has focused on eliminating non-value-added activities, reducing cycle time, and cutting cost. His accomplishments include implementing ERP and MRP at several high technology manufacturing companies, increasing inventory turnover, significantly reducing process cycle times and direct labor cost, and achieving ISO registration. He has applied his expertise in a broad range of industries, including electronics, capital equipment, machine tools and supplies.
After 30 years of industry experience, Rob joined the faculty of SUNY Stony Brook as a lecturer in operations management at the College of Business. He holds an MS in Technology Management from the Harriman School at Stony Brook, and a BS in Business Administration from California State University Northridge. He earned certification at the Fellow level in Production and Inventory Management (CFPIM, 1976), and is recognized as a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP, 2006).
Richard Johanson
CFPIM, CIRM
Senior IT Systems Analyst, BAE Systems
Rich Johanson is currently a Senior IT Systems Analyst, working both Baan ERP applications development and Oracle ERP systems implementation. He is a certified fellow in production and inventory management and is certified in integrated resource management.
Rich began his 25-plus-year career in industry as a Material Planner and Supervisor at a high-volume commercial manufacturer. Upon completing his MBA from Long Island University, he secured a position with his current employer, a legacy company of BAE Systems.
After several years in Manufacturing Program Management, Rich became Manager of its master scheduling department -- dividing his time between the day-to-day operation of the master scheduling function and the implementation projects for the ERP systems.
Rich has been teaching the APICS certification courses and mini-series for more than 15 years, and has been a dinner speaker at its Long Island Chapter events. He has also guest-lectured at SUNY Farmingdale and SUNY Stony Brook.
Norman L. Heilweil
CPIM
President, Manufacturing Education Institute
Norm Heilweil is President of the Manufacturing Education Institute, a firm specializing in consulting, counseling, education and training. He has more than 25 years of varied manufacturing experience with both small and large firms. His areas of expertise are in the business application of manual and computerized systems.
Norm’s abilities enable him to evaluate the business/system flow of manufacturing companies. The findings are translated for management into a conceptual flow and are detailed for the users.
Since 1983, Norm has helped many manufacturing companies improve their productivity. This has been done not only through the system improvements of the manufacturing flow, but also by working with individuals and small groups to implement a positive change.
Norm earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering from NYU College of Engineering. He is certified by APICS and is a past president of the Long Island Chapter. As the Director of Education, he initiated an extensive array of learning programs. Norm currently serves as the VP of Education and is a frequent speaker at APICS international conferences, seminars and chapter meetings. He conducts seminars both publicly and in-house.
Norm is also on the faculty of the National Association of Purchasing Management of NY.
Frank Colletti
CSCP
Purchasing Manager, Designatronics, Inc
A well versed professional with more than 18 years of experience in Manufacturing. Frank has worked at a variety of companies, with revenue ranging from $5 million to more than $200 million annually. He is also a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
He has served in capacities ranging from Engineering Aide to Production Manager and Purchasing Manager -- while simultaneously working in the restaurant industry with stints as an owner, manager, chef and bartender.
Frank brings a wealth of experience to his current position of Purchasing Manager at Designatronics, Inc of New Hyde Park, NY. He is a Certified Supply Chain Specialist through APICS, and earned a BSEE (electronic engineering).
David Klauber
CPIM, MBA
Consultant and Trainer
David Klauber has more than 25 years of practical experience in Consulting, Materials Management, Production Planning, Contract Administration and Financial Analysis. His broad experience base includes operational strategies, working capital improvements, training, and business process redesign.
Dave has worked in
-- in both high-volume and job-shop environments. He has completed multiple projects and training in diverse multicultural environments. Lean manufacturing techniques were taught and applied for several companies in both Spanish and English.
