Welcome To APICS NYC-LI Chapter!

Presidents Message

Dear APICS Members and Guests,

Congratulations to our Chapter on reaching our 50th Anniversary

The evening got off to a significant start with John Maguire of Nassau County Emergency Operations Management, EOC Manager, presenting to our chapter a citation from Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano congratulating us our 50th anniversary. The event was enhanced when Lois Greaux of LIFT presented APICS NYC/LI with not one but two other proclamations: one from

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand - 50th Anniversary Celebration

and the other from

Congressman Steve Israel  A Recognition of our 50th Anniversary Celebration

This was a great way to start off our evening.

The 50th celebration recently was spectacular with many of our past presidents in attendance to honor during the evening.  As I mentioned, I stand on the shoulders of giants many represented this evening.

We would like to thank all of you that joined our celebration. Some came from far and traveled more than 3 hours to get to this event, commenting that it was worth the time to venture to LI for such an exciting celebration.   We are grateful that our neighboring NJ Chapter officers were there to join in our festivities as well as our student chapters and the many companies represented.

We would like to thank Dr. Keen the President of Farmingdale State College for his words of congratulations and participation in this event.  They inspire us with their significant milestone of 100 years.  Our collaborations will enable future generations, our future leaders, to be better prepared for entry into manufacturing.

Our Special Guest Speaker Mr. Dave R. Brousell, the VP/Editorial Director of Manufacturing Executive, part of Thomas Publishing of New York, provided many insights into his titled discussion on Redefining Manufacturing: 8 Critical Issues That Will Shape the Future. It was an honored to have such a talented keynote speaker.

A special treat came to us in the form of the student officers of the APICS Students chapter, the ERP students and the Engineering Club officers from Farmingdale State when they presented on their joint collaboration, the Formula SAE project.  I was extremely proud of their professionalism and concise details in their prepared presentation.

We would like to thank all the sponsors of our commemorative journal for their generosity; we hope you enjoyed what we prepared.

We could not do this celebrating without the loyal participation of our members, so thank you all for joining us and we look forward to seeing you at our next PDM.

Best Regards,

Jill O’Sullivan

President
